If you’re in the hospitality industry in Greater Edmonton, you know the challenges this sector faces.  Present issues include a continuation of  the downturn of the oil sector which has reduced travel-demands, to recent operational burdens such as increased minimum wages. All this at a time when we’re facing significant and ongoing increased local hotel capacity –  is forcing all of each of us to work harder and smarter.

The best way to break apart from the pack is to become a member of the Edmonton Destination Marketing Hotels Ltd (EDMH) hotel association.  Our members leverage about $7 million in marketing investments annually.

Our hotels are  –

the only hotels listed on the Edmonton Tourism website (www.ExploreEdmonton.com);
the only hotels listed on the Edmonton’s Best Hotels website (www.EdmontonsBestHotels.com);
the only hotels that benefit from regional campaigns that with unique inclusions, free to our members
the only hotels that benefit from Regional Sport & Small Meeting sales activities
the only hotels that can participate in Edmonton Tourism led tradeshows and fams
the only hotels that can bid on Convention & Event blocks.
the only hotels as the call-to-action from any Edmonton Tourism marketing campaign

More and more, hoteliers look to reduce rates as the only way to secure additional business.  As a hotel association, the EDMH offers a way to build business instead of just steal business.

Funds are directed at marketing initiatives (advertising, promotions, sales, etc.) which promote Edmonton regionally, provincially, nationally and internationally – to attract events, meetings and conventions with the intention of generating economic impact and raising the region’s profile. As an example of the EDMH success – even though unprecedented tough times, moving into our fifth year of an economic downturn – per Smith Travel Research (STR) reports, we can prove that EDMH hotels outperform all-Edmonton properties by over 10 points in RevPAR.
