Spring Cleaning and Decluttering: Tips, Tricks, and Services in Edmonton

With the snow melting away and the sun shining brighter, spring brings a feeling of freshness and renewal. It is the perfect time to reinvigorate living spaces and make them more vibrant. Spring cleaning goes beyond just tidying up your home; it is a chance to declutter, reorganize, and prepare for the year ahead. For both the residents and visitors of Edmonton, this season offers an exceptional opportunity to give their homes and hotels a new lease of life. In this ultimate guide, you will find practical advice and a comprehensive list of local services to help make your spring cleaning a breeze.

Begin with a Plan

Spring cleaning can be daunting. However, if you start with a clear plan, it can be effective and manageable. First, identify the areas of your home or hotel that need attention, such as the cluttered garage, dusty attic, or unclean guest rooms. Creating a checklist will help you stay organized and motivated. To avoid burnout, allocate tasks over several days or weekends. This way, you can tackle one section at a time and progress steadily.

Decluttering: Room by Room

Spring cleaning often begins with decluttering. To make it more manageable, focus on one room at a time and sort your items into four categories: keep, donate, sell, or discard. Luckily, Edmonton has many donation centers, such as Goodwill and the Salvation Army, where you can donate items you no longer need. For unique or valuable items, consider selling them on local online marketplaces. This frees up space and can help you earn some extra cash.

Deep Cleaning Essentials

After decluttering, it’s time for a thorough cleaning. Pay attention to the areas that are usually neglected during routine cleaning. Clean the windows, wash the carpets, and remember to clean the hidden spots behind furniture and appliances. If any of these tasks are difficult, don’t worry! Edmonton has professional cleaning services such as Mop To It or Duty Cleaners, who can handle any cleaning job, big or small, and leave your space spotless.

Organizing Your Space

Once you’re done cleaning, take some time to organize your space. This is a great chance to reconsider how you use the available space. Innovative storage solutions can significantly improve the area’s functionality. In Edmonton, stores like IKEA and Solutions Your Organized Living Store provide diverse options, from kitchen gadgets to closet organizers.

Eco-Friendly Cleaning

Consider integrating eco-friendly practices into your spring cleaning routine. Edmonton has witnessed an increase in environmentally friendly cleaning services such as AspenClean, which utilizes only 100% natural products. Moreover, you can make your own cleaning solutions using ingredients like vinegar, baking soda, and lemon. These alternatives are not only better for the environment but also gentle on surfaces and safe for families.

Supporting Local Businesses

Spring cleaning only applies to your physical space. By supporting local businesses and services, you can help revitalize the community and contribute to Edmonton’s vibrant regional economy. Whether you hire a local junk removal company such as JustJunk, purchase supplies from local stores, or donate to local charities, every small effort counts toward making Edmonton a better place.

Spring cleaning is more than just a customary practice; it’s a revitalizing ritual that can significantly impact your physical space and mental well-being. Planning, decluttering, deep cleaning, organizing, and choosing eco-friendly options can transform your environment into a refreshing and inviting space. Edmonton offers many resources and services to assist in this annual endeavour, making it easier for everyone to embrace the season’s spirit of renewal. So, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and let the spring cleaning begin!

There must be a minimum of three days between bookings.

Multiple reservations for the same person for the same night(s) is considered a double booking and only one of those bookings will be eligible for rewards. For example, if a guest books two nights on x and y date and then makes another two-night booking for the same dates at the same hotel or another hotel, EBH considers this a double booking and will honour rewards for only one of those bookings.

Is there a limit on the number of bookings I make on different dates?  Edmonton Best Hotels welcomes repeat business.  Some of our guests visit Edmonton every month.  Please note as stated earlier there must be a minimum of three days between bookings. Please also note stated blackout dates.
